Sam Goldbrom is a textile artist with a background in fashion knitwear. After relocating from London, in 2021 she changed her career and has been making and teaching creative workshops from her home studio on the Kent Coast.
Inspired by the 70’s craft movement, where adventurous projects would be crafted using basic materials, Sam’s textile artworks are slowly and precisely handmade.
Each panel is wrapped and woven, layering colour and shape into a patchwork of light reflecting threads.
Little Victory was launched during lockdown, using the time to hone a new technique and realise the potential and diversity of the off loom weaving method that now forms the basis of her practice.
Using cotton yarn and hardwood as her primary materials, she creates bespoke and limited edition artworks as well as intricately woven mirrors for residential and commercial interiors. Each piece is worked directly onto a rigid surface without the constraints of a traditional weaving loom, using fine threads to create gloriously colourful and subtly textured panels.
