PLOP pottery

Scarlett Robinson is a British self-taught ceramic artist who designs and makes every piece by hand. Inspired by Nerikomi techniques, bold patterns and shapes found in everyday scenes; her functional, contemporary pieces bring a big pop of joy to the home.

PLOP Pottery was born from Scarlett’s unwavering love for clay and her endless curiosity to explore its potential. She began her pottery journey on the wheel, but over time, discovered a profound love for hand-building, drawn to its slower, more meditative process. By using Nerikomi techniques, each piece she creates is one-of-a-kind, adding an extra layer of uniqueness and charm to her work.

Scarlett’s creations are inspired by playful experimentation and a constant exploration of the medium. Working from her shared pottery studio in Bristol, her work has been showcased in national publications like House & Garden, The Times, Grazia, Stylist, The Telegraph, and SheerLuxe.

"Scarlett has created a decorative technique reminiscent of marbling but that feel completely unique."
