Lorraine works from her studio at her home in Stroud, creating a range of handmade ceramics. All pieces are carefully crafted using fine stoneware clay and glazed in Lorraine's own specially made glazes. Her playful homeware pieces sold out in Selfridges, Christmas 2023.
With a background in fine art, working as a lecturer and within the creative industries, Lorraine has a broad experience in working with a range of different materials and techniques.
Whilst employed as a modeller in a fine art foundry Lorraine joined ceramics evening classes and found a real passion for working with clay. Like many people Lorraine was furloughed from her job during the pandemic, and during this period she set up her own ceramics studio in the basement of her home. A few years later with lots of orders for ceramics coming in, Lorraine decided to commit to working full-time on her passion.
Lorraine has exhibited her ceramic pieces at Peckham Craft Show, Weven, Gallery Pangolin and Aleph Gallery. She sells her homeware pieces through a handful of independent shops and direct to customers.
It is important to Lorraine to maintain her studio practice as ethically and sustainably as possible.
