Joanna Ling Ceramics

Handmade tableware and bespoke ceramics. Unique, considered pieces for your home designed and made in Joanna's London studio. Featured in House & Garden, Homes & Gardens, Vanity Fair and Style Magazine.

Joanna ran the Cecil Beaton archive at Sotheby’s for many years and the photographer’s sense of style and designer’s eye have been a great inspiration for her ceramics. The fields and woods of England deeply imbue her work – be it in the forms her pieces take or the decorative elements she uses. Her designs tend towards minimalism and therefore look at home in most interiors.

Working with high-end stockists worldwide as well as interior designers and private clients, her ceramics are mainly made to order. She loves working on special commissions – be it for a one of a kind wedding present or something for a particular space.

Joanna’s clients include: National Portrait Gallery, Matches Fashion, The Newt in Somerset, Moda Operandi, Birdie Fortescue, Sotheby’s, Maison Estelle and The Muse at Estelle Manor.

" I have admired Joanna Ling's work for a while. All her ceramics are handmade in her garden studio in London. Her candlestick holders have such a delicacy to them. I plan to use three or five of them down the centre of my table and fill them with different coloured candles. "

In a world of mass production, Joanna feels it important to cherish the singular which is why every piece she creates is unique, considered and handmade. She particularly likes to include elements in her work that reflect something about the person they are for or the setting they will be in.

Sustainability is key to Joanna’s process, including raw glazing her work with brush on glazes and recycling materials as much as possible.

Visitors are most welcome to visit her studio by appointment. She also holds an Open Studio in May and November each year where seconds and samples are available for sale.
