Superfluities is a British ceramic brand by Catherine Watson. Every single item is hand made by Catherine in her North London studio. Ceramics with frills inspired by her vintage glass collection.
Catherine originally worked as a photographer but in 2021 decided to fulfill a hankering for ceramics and soon became obsessed. Her style was originally inspired by her extensive collection of vintage glass, the frills and shapes a continuing theme in her collections.
Starting with candlesticks Catherine’s collection now includes lamps, vases, mugs, match-pots, egg cups, plates.. in fact she can incorporate her signature frill onto just about anything.
Every piece is carefully hand made in her North London studio. Every scrap of clay is recycled, every drop of glaze is reused, sustainability and limiting waste are fundamental to Superfluitie’s ethos.
Superfluities is stocked in a selection of wonderful independent stores around the UK and has been featured in Country Living Magazine, Living etc and Sheerluxe.
Catherine aims to create something really special but also functional and timeless that can be used everyday.
