Polly Ruffman is a botanical painter who frames each work in unique fabric-covered frames and mounts.
An irrepressible doodler as a child, Polly was lucky enough to grow up to become an artist. She paints playful studies of flowers and nature, and presents them in frames and mounts she has covered by hand in fabric. A consistent colour palette across her work means that all her pieces work well both individually and alongside one another.
Polly tends to gravitate towards neutrals, enhancing them with gentle touches of colour. She sources fabrics carefully, using organic cottons as much as she can, and loves to see how her artwork changes and comes alive once framed. Polly often combines her contemporary style of painting with vintage textiles, creating a connection between the past styles and present trends.
Inspired heavily by the English countryside that surrounds Polly, she paints and presents her work in response to the seasonal changes she observes.
She is a multi-disciplinary artist, working with chalk paint, acrylic and crayon. Her paintings aim to capture the organic and joyful movement of flowers and the natural world.
Past clients include Sanderson, Number One Bruton and Soho House, and her work is currently stocked by Liberty London and Domenica Marland. She also takes commissions directly.
