David Perry, based in Cornwall, UK, is a talented artist specialising in fused glass. His unique creations, handcrafted using various techniques, reflect his passion for art and craftsmanship. David’s work has been featured on TV and various Home Style Magazines.
David Perry, originally from Gloucestershire, began his career in a factory making spectacles before transitioning to a corporate role in the life and pensions sector and later as an IT certified professional. In 2011, he moved to Penryn, Cornwall, where the coastal lifestyle inspired him to explore his creative side.
In 2017, David left his office job in Penzance to pursue his passion for art, starting with photography and later expanding into fused glass and ceramics. By 2019, he had built his own home workshop with several kilns, dedicated to creating unique glass and ceramic pieces.
David’s work is known for its variety of techniques, including hand-cut glass, fused-glass powders, enamel painting and vitrigraph pulling to create one-off pieces. His creations range from glass bowls, coasters, placemats, game boards to intricate coral style vases/wall sculptures pieces, all handcrafted in Cornwall.
His art has gained recognition, with features on Channel 4’s TV “Steph’s Packed Lunch” and various popular home lifestyle magazines with the likes of Elle Decoration, The Sunday Times Style, Home Style, Living Etc, Grazia, London Evening Standard Newspaper, Vogue UK, Real Homes and also highlighted in the 2024 Naberthem Kiln manufacturer catalogue. Royal Mail Business also collaborated with David to provide a case study video for their social media and the “Click and Drop” postal system.
Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, David continued to innovate and expand his artistic repertoire.
